The two founders are Tjalling van der Schaar and Pedro Nieto. In 2021, they were named among the 100 most promising 'changemakers' in the world by Forbes Magazine and are sponsored by the ex-CEO of Google, who pays for their education and associated costs (Rise Scholarship). In return for this sponsorship, they have both promised to use everything they receive to make this world a better place. We are further assisted by advisors, including the co-founder of Booking.com.
We have signed contracts with all partners we work with to keep the website and AI models online. In short, all data we collect remains private. The data we share with third parties (who are contractually obligated to keep it private) is anonymized. The data we share can never be traced back to a specific person or even a specific school. Individual teachers can try YouCademy for free for one month with a usage limit on the features we offer. For school subscriptions, we are more flexible and can offer so-called pilots with the full version of the platform to see if it is suitable for your school. If we offered more free trial periods, we would have to make the monthly price for users more expensive to cover the costs, which is why we have chosen this balance.
We base all our features on scientific research paired with teacher input. Furthermore, we have dynamic machine learning models that continuously adapt the learning material based on student outcomes. Additionally, we internally track all data to ensure that YouCademy always delivers the promised educational value! We are currently setting up studies at partner schools to quantify the precise improvements of students using YouCademy.
We understand that school budgets are not huge. On the other hand, such forms of personalization require a lot of computing power. We didn't start this to make a big profit, and by breaking even, we can offer the best services at the lowest price.
